As we start the new year many people create resolutions. In my line of work I call them intentions. Usually they are about health, weight, relationship, money, work etc. I read a short article by Dian Brossart, she is the President of Arizona Forward, and I would like to share some of her thoughts.
If you have food in the frig, clothes on your back and a roof overhead, you are richer than 75% of all the people in this world.
If you have money in your bank account and spare change lying around you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy. If you’ve never experienced fear in battle, the loneliness and isolation of imprisonment or pangs of starvation you’re more fortunate than 700 million others. If you worship without fear of imprisonment or death you are freer than 3 billion people. And if you can read this you’re more enlightened than 2 billion people who can’t read at all.
In the Five element class I teach an abundance repatterning. The sentiments expressed above are a wonderful benchmark for true abundance. We tend to judge our abundance by a societal standard that emphasizes the accumulation of wealth. When we don’t meet that mark then we don’t feel abundant.
I invite all of us to create a new definition of true abundance: full frig, clothes, housing, spare change, living in a peaceful country, freedom of worship and the ability to read this blog post…
