Merry Christmas…

Another holiday season is here. It is always a good time for looking back with 20/20 hindsight. 2013 was a great year. Carolyn and I launched our online seminars and students are enjoying the experience. My son got married in Hawaii and I adopted a sweet dog. Life is good.

I wish you a beautiful winding down of the year. May you recognize your blessings and give thanks for all you have. I look forward to a healthy, abundant and adventurous new year.

Do You Resonate With Your Name?

Barack Hussein Obama II birth certificate

Barack Hussein Obama II birth certificate (Photo credit: planspark)

A college room-mate of mine left an impression I will never forget.  We were comparing our experiences with our given name versus how we were known.   It seemed her eccentric anti-establishment father protested the requirement to complete a formal birth certificate for each of his 6+ children by completely filling in the lines of the form with as many names as possible.  While each sibling received an Avant-garde first name based on Greek or Norse mythology that they were known by, it wasn’t until as young adults applying for a birth certificate that they realized how many names they were endowed with in the same vein.  The ribbing that they received in school in the early years over an uncommon first name, left its social stigma with my friend.  She had mixed feelings of anger and joy for her father’s creativity for the names she had been given.  I often wondered if her name experience related to the mythological stories of their origin.  I suspect it had.

Names are words that when uttered have a frequency, the name we are known by delivers that frequency to our energy system every time it is spoken.    My given name is officially Carolyn – a name selected after great debate over a European tradition– should I be named Caroline like my mother and her grandmother?  My mother hated the ‘line’ in Caroline and insisted on a more modern ‘Carolyn’ which won the day. However in practice, my parents and siblings called me ‘Carol’ as it was shorter.   It was only when the harsh realities of a grown up world settled in and the bank would not deposit a check made to ‘Carol’ when my official ID said ‘Carolyn’ that I started to wonder what name I should be using.  Patterns of identity confusion may have set in at that point.

In my late 20’s I took a job in a new city and province on the other side of the country.  When I got off the plane a welcome committee greeted me and I was introduced as “Carolyn”.  I was too shy to say “Just call me Carol as my family does.”   A new identity and persona for me was born. I was now Carolyn, which felt formal, royal and somehow important filling an ego need at the time.   When I returned home to Ontario I was ‘Carol; – the informal, loving family member and friend.

When I moved back permanently to Ontario, with new employers I now stuck to the formal ‘Carolyn’ but a new problem arose.  Increasingly the lines between work and family blurred. My new and old friends would correct each other on my real name!  However, at a recent social gathering of this set,  I was referred to as both Carol and Carolyn depending on in which context I had made the friend.  No corrections were made.  I found that interesting.

Oddly enough, maybe it is the years of resonance repatterning work on myself and others, advancing age or the positive intentions of others… I seem to resonate with any name I am called- Carol, Carolyn, Caroline, or even the Italian Carolina.   I respond equally and no longer turn red with embarrassment, or feel an awkwardness to explain myself.   I never correct anyone but allow the other person to call me as they resonate.

I know it is a trend among many who have done considerable inner work and healing to change their name for a variety of reasons.  Some make the transition successfully and reap the rewards of a name more aligned to their essence.  Others do not, reverting back to their original.  Whether you have made a name change or not, there is a steamer trunk full of patterns to examine with your given name and an inner freedom to experience when you resonate with your name!

What is your experience with your name and have you repatterned it?  Sharing welcomed!
With love and light

Carolyn

Have you been rescued?

IMG_20130828_151916_391Meet Brody the newest addition to my family. I was with my son and daughter in law a couple of weeks ago in Flagstaff. They decided I needed a dog. I agreed and told them I was sure I would adopt a dog when I was ready. They insisted that I was ready and asked me to go with them to look at some dogs ready to be adopted. We ended up at the Humane Society. My son asked me what kind of dog I wanted. I had large dogs in the past but didn’t feel they would be the best choice for me at this stage in my life. So I describe my future dog in this way; 25-30 lbs, not a puppy, already trained, with low dander and minimal shedding please! We went inside and the first dog I saw was this little guy. He is a cocker spaniel/poodle mix, about 5 yrs old, well trained, doesn’t shed because he has hair not fur, very personable and energetic! It was love at first sight for both of us. It is nice to have a four legged buddy again and he certainly brings a lot of loving energy to our home. I know at some level he appreciates me “rescuing” him and I truly feel he has rescued me from routine and predictability. Walking Brody is a grand adventure. Everything is new to him and it allows me to experience my neighborhood in a different light. Brody loves all people and animals and he is ready to spread the love around! I look forward to discovering, along with Brody, the magic and wonders of Scottsdale.  Stay tuned for updates on our journey!

Have you been “rescued” by a pet? I would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment on my blog and I will share in future posts.

Happy birthday to Chloe….

Today we celebrate the anniversary of Chloe Wordsworth’s birth. In 1990 I moved to Scottsdale Arizona with my young son. I didn’t know anyone in Arizona but felt very drawn to it. I quickly sought out alternative healers to maintain my health. Within a few weeks I had met three wonderful practitioners: a Naturopathic physician, massage therapist and Chiropractor. They each asked if I knew Chloe Wordsworth. I replied each time that I didn’t know anyone since I was new to the area. In their own words each of them told me there was something about me that made them think of Chloe. I don’t believe in accidents and trust that I’m where I need to be at all times. I called Chloe and asked if we could meet.

She was very receptive to my request. I went to her home. We spoke at length about her work. At that time she was developing what would become Resonance Repatterning. I was fascinated. I had studied psychology, the Chakra system of India, muscle checking and the Five element system of China in the years prior to our meeting. I was thrilled that someone had combined so many of my interests into one system! A client arrived while we were talking and Chloe received permission for me to observe her session. It was a powerful experience for me. I understood, on some level, everything that Chloe was doing and the client’s transformation was amazing. She glowed!

A friendship began on that day. I trained with Chloe, organized seminars for her and became a certified practitioner. Chloe invited me to become her first teacher. It was a bit intimidating following in her large footsteps ! Yet I have been teaching her system for over 18 years to thousands of people. Resonance Repatterning has been a wonderful gift for me personally. I have cleared so many patterns within myself and I have helped others to do the same. I have traveled to many wonderful countries teaching seminars and finding that people are people wherever you go. Everyone has problems. Many people struggle with finances, work stresses, health or relationship issues. All parents want their children to be happy, healthy and have wonderful productive lives. Students have transformed in our seminars and have taken what they learn to their families and friends and into their communities. The work has rippled out and affected countless lives.

I had a chance to catch up with Chloe recently. We offered a wonderful seminar in Scottsdale to practitioners who wanted to receive a little healing from Chloe for a day. It was called “Healing the healers” and everyone who attended was thrilled to be there. If you have taken one of Chloe’s Resonance Repatterning classes you know that she holds an incredible healing space for everyone. She gives beautiful sessions and the entire group is constantly shifting and letting go of old patterns and always learning more.

In the the 23 years I have known Chloe her work has been evolving. It is organic. She is constantly seeking more knowledge to pass along to the rest of us. She is a seeker. I have been the beneficiary of that drive to know more and it fills me with gratitude.

The books have been changing as Chloe found a better way to support healing and transformation. Many of them are finished. Some are still evolving. Right now Chloe is finishing up a revised version of the Modality book. It will be called: ” Spiral Up! 127 Tools to Boost Your Energy and Balance Your Life”.

For the first time it will be offered to the public. You don’t have to attend a seminar to purchase this new book. It will come with a DVD of Chloe demonstrating all the modalities and giving a deeper understanding of each one. Chloe feels that everyone will benefit from knowing how to choose a tool to feel better in the moment. There are tools to help with anger, anxiety, grief, depression, low energy; whatever is going on that is ready to shift your state of mind easily.

Chloe is in the final stages of giving birth to the “Spiral Up!” book and like all proud mothers she can’t wait to show her new baby to the world! Please go to the e-store at our website: www.resonancerepatterning.net to purchase the book and DVD. It should be available later this fall.

Happy Birthday

On the anniversary of Chloe’s birth I want to acknowledge her newest creation: “Spiral Up!” I have seen how much Chloe has “labored” to birth Resonance Repatterning over the past decades. Her passion, devotion and work ethic are truly inspiring to me. Many of us have silent thoughts of appreciation for others and it is nice for them to hear it as well. If you have been touched by Chloe and her work please leave a note on my blog. I promise to forward your sentiments to Chloe. I know she will appreciate hearing from you.

Clear that “back to school stress” with Resonance Repatterning

MC900435247[1]A few practical applications of Resonance Repatterning

My colleague Karen Kent (past president at RPA) is a mom who has supported the needs of parents and children for years offering her online group proxy series: “School Work Groove”. It is a program needed more than ever as children face the pressures from home to do well and at the same time facing levels of social challenges like bullying. Parents may not resonate with their support making a difference and children or young adult learners alike may not always resonate with receiving support.

If back to school stress has taken a toll on your family in the past check out her program at www.WindsorHolisticHealth.com.

Here are 3 repatternings from the Resonance Repatterning System that come to mind when dealing with back to school issues. Continue reading
