Perspective…..

DSCN0506As we start the new year many people create resolutions. In my line of work I call them intentions. Usually they are about health, weight, relationship, money, work etc. I read a short article by Dian Brossart, she is the President of Arizona Forward, and I would like to share some of her thoughts.

If you have food in the frig, clothes on your back and a roof overhead, you are richer than 75% of all the people in this world.
If you have money in your bank account and spare change lying around you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy. If you’ve never experienced fear in battle, the loneliness and isolation of imprisonment or pangs of starvation you’re more fortunate than 700 million others. If you worship without fear of imprisonment or death you are freer than 3 billion people. And if you can read this you’re more enlightened than 2 billion people who can’t read at all.

In the Five element class I teach an abundance repatterning. The sentiments expressed above are a wonderful benchmark for true abundance. We tend to judge our abundance by a societal standard that emphasizes the accumulation of wealth. When we don’t meet that mark then we don’t feel abundant.

I invite all of us to create a new definition of true abundance: full frig, clothes, housing, spare change, living in a peaceful country, freedom of worship and the ability to read this blog post…

What red shoe persona reflects who you are today?

MP900404922[1]Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz came to a place of illumination once the good witch informed her that the power to return home was within her all along. She simply needed to click her red shoes together. This story presents powerful imagery of self-empowerment.

It is the kind of self-empowerment we achieve by commiting to doing Resonance Repatterning sessions on a regular basis. Growth and transformation is constantly evolving within us. Who we are today may be quite different from who we were a year ago or more. To integrate our new higher energy state and all the growth we have achieved it is helpful to appreciate our accomplishments and our changes.

I would like to suggest an exercise of anchoring that growth with an image. It could be anything from a new dish pattern to a new car – what style would you choose today to represent who you have become?

Carolyn has put together a Pinterest board of RED SHOES and put it on side bar of my blog. Let’s have some fun here. Take a look at the repinned shoe pictures and leave comments on what each represent to you. What is your favorites. Which set of shoes represents where you are today? What shoes represent who you used to be?

Lets celebrate our growth!

Enjoy the exercise and appreciate your accomplishment!

GREAT RESOLUTIONS
By Gail Glanville, Owner Change Bistro & Resonance Repatterning Practitioner

Last week, for Solstice, I wrote about the power of simplicity— a great way to harness the Solstice energy and light up your dreams.
This week, as we approach the New Year, simplicity is still the best guide. Because New Year’s Resolutions are simply about something you want and don’t have, or something you have and don’t want.
I’ve discovered that New Year’s goals in the past failed because they were based on external problems that made me feel like I was “not good enough.”
When I learned how to set simple goals that came from my essence and honored what is just right in me, my resolutions became fuel for moving to sunny Florida and completing the new Goldilocks Repatternings book. That’s how I know this can work for you too.
HOW TO SET A STRESS-FREE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION
• Before you make a resolution, you have to know what the problem is you want to resolve.
The problem is never what you think it is; it’s never what appears on the surface. It’s never what someone else tells you. It’s usually part of the universal limiting belief in “not enough” and it is stored in your innermost depths.
So taking the time to get to the core of the problem before you spend time on your resolution is a wise investment.
• Then you have to change the energy around the problem.
That’s what Einstein meant when he said you cannot solve a problem at the level of the problem.
What you can do is name, claim and tame the problem. Get it moving in your psyche. Find a better, more beneficial resolution.
As an example—
This is what doesn’t work: A one-to-one equation that goes “I’m too judgmental of myself and others, so for New Year’s I resolve to give up judging and become more accepting.
This is an equation that cannot succeed: it’s all the same energy. It’s the same problem of judging whether you are a success or a failure. It comes from a belief in rejection that is truly toxic to your health and core well-being, so give it up!
A better equation might be: “To improve my relationship with myself and others, I slow down and listen to my inner wisdom before I take action or speak out.”
Can you feel how different the energy in this goal is?
Maybe you can’t always stay in the power this goal gives you, but there is plenty of room for forgiveness and growth as you develop a new understanding of what is just right and enlivening for the person you were born to be.
Congratulations! You’ve changed the energy around your problem!
Want some more support?
JUST RIGHT START FOR 2014
• Let go of generations of impoverishing “not good enough” patterns and beliefs that keep you from your dreams,
• Power up Just Right energy—not too much, not too little, but Just Right—for New Year’s goals that support the healthy, wealthy, loving person you’re born to be.
Best of all…with REPATTERNING tools at hand, I know that Just Right peace, power and prosperity can be yours each and every day.
And so it is!

Unplug!

Large corporations are trying to help workers avoid burnout. They are being creative in their attempts to protect workers from themselves.  Volkswagen turns off employees email 30 minutes after their shift ends. Goldman Sachs is urging staff to take weekends off. BMW is planning new rules to keep workers from being contacted after hours.

They are realizing that employees must be able to escape from work. It’s not completely altruistic. This industry response is to stop the trend of employees turning up but not delivering anything. Information overload costs businesses about 1 trillion in time lost to needless emails and other distractions.  So they are vested in how to keep those who are left after the recession from burning out.

Some strategies at play: making people feel less at risk in their jobs. Less contract workers and more permanent employees. Encouraging them to take weekends off. Emphasizing that employment is a marathon not a sprint.

Businesses are concerned about losing valuable workers to companies with better work/ life balance. Technology has helped us be more efficient and created more stress. It has eliminated down time that used to be built into the day so we were not working constantly.

It all comes down to balance and realizing that people need to be treated well. There was a study done years ago asking people if they would rather receive a raise or feel appreciated by their companies. I think you know what won! When we feel appreciation we have energy. We want to go to work and contribute. Burn out doesn’t have to happen. Take your own time out. You are capable of unplugging. Someone has to stop competing with 80 hour workweeks and unending “checking in” with work. Why not be the first to do this? What is stopping you???

Here’s to balance! Ardis
